Council news, Consultations and Issues

On 18 May 2023 Gwernaffield and Pantymwyn Community Council adopted by resolution The Members Code of Conduct.
The essence of the code is that councillors agree to act openly and honourably in the public interest.

Councillor Ruth Appleton was voted as Chair and Councillor Adrian Barsby, Vice Chairman for the Community Council 2023/2024.
(See notice board section for other councillors).

The Council has been asked for its views on the following matters:

Gwernaffield Play Area / Improvements Completed 2021/2022
At last the Community Council has become the legal Trustee’s of Gwernaffield Playing field.  A public meeting was held in August 2016  to hopefully start a fundraising group.
This was achieved and a committee has now been formed under the name of
‘Friends of Gwernaffield Playing Field’, although every meeting to be held is open to any member of the public who would wish to help. The Group have set up a just giving page so if you would like to donate then they would be most grateful.
£60.000 is their aim to improve and refurbish the Playing Field.

The Friends of Gwernaffield Playing Fields has been disbanded. The Gwernaffield Playing Fields has seen considerable investment in recent years by the community council, Flintshire County Council and Aura Play and Leisure Services.
